Porteus Package Manager and Update fails

Post#1 by angry1 » 27 Apr 2014, 18:51

The PPM tells me every time that I am missing the necessary database files and when trying to update pops up the USM which, wasting a big chunk of my time again, cannot find a damn thing, oh but wait! If I type in something very very vague it tells me: too many results. So typing Chro, Chrom, Chrome, Chromium turns up: no results but Ch turns up too many.

An understandable feeling when one gets frustrated. Have you considered trying a different Linux system? A Live CD type maybe?

I would say this is more than enough with our patience. You won't get no more answer from my part on this forum. =@

Yeah, sorry. Bad coding. That should have read ....

"You are missing the necessary brain power to run this system. Please lock yourself in a car and connect a hose from the exhaust to the window."

This could even be put on a BSOD if you makes you feel more at home.
How do i become super user?
Wear your underpants on the outside and put on a cape.

hehehe more like "You are missing the necessary brain power to run this system. Please lock yourself in a car, remove the hose connecting your ass to your mouth and use it to connect the exhaust to the window."

I bet he spent hours searching for internet explorer on USM.

now, now everyone learning something new can seem daunting remember your first day of kindergarten and how scary
that was and you told your mommy how you hated it and didn't ever want to go back but one day when that pretty girl with the pig tails came over and said hi
how all of a sudden it didn't seem so bad in fact was your favorite after that day
