bogomips, I don't fully understand your message, my guess is it's working for you 'cause you already have the package while it doesn't work for me because I haven't, is it that way? anyway have you got an idea of the problem in your script?

No, turned mouse wheel in a moment of distraction, and it was downloaded along with a lot of indecipherable characters.
Starting from scratch:

So far there is no problem to speak of. The contents of the file used to overwrite /usr/share/usm/funcpackageGet above, were those posted at the bottom of

I would not call this a USM bug.
It was (it's working now) clearly the server who delivered a wrong/corrupted file
and because of rsync every up to date server would have the same.
Changing the server has no advantage in this case.
btw
the default (mirrors-slackwarepatches) is set to Brazil..., personally i set one
near my location -- makes sense, no?

Use the -s switch when looking for a library..
Code: Select all
root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -s libQtXml.so.4
-----------------------------
Are you searching for a library file?
libQtXml.so.4, it seems a library.
Would you like to find the package for it? [y/n]
libQtXml.so.4 was found in qt-4.8.7-i586-4.txz
EDIT
--> slackware patches <--
The server itself is running - look into /var/usm/slackwarepatches/ - you get files
but the md5sum does not match (MANIFEST.bz2 <=> CHECKSUMS.md5)
hence "There was a problem downloading the file"

Ed, why you choose 0.4.4 newest one is 2.0.3
IMPORTANT - bear in mind that i'm on 32 Bit not 64 Bit
so folders might be named
lib64 in your case.
However, what i had to do to get keepassx running:
Link the missing files
Code: Select all
root@porteus:/usr/lib# ln -s /usr/share/copasi/lib/libQtXml.so.4 libQtXml.so.4
root@porteus:/usr/lib# ln -s /usr/share/copasi/lib/libQtGui.so.4 libQtGui.so.4
root@porteus:/usr/lib# ln -s /usr/share/copasi/lib/libQtCore.so.4 libQtCore.so.4
after that, another file was missing -> libpng12.so.0
so the libpng-legacy12-1.2.57-i486-1_slonly package was needed.
now keepassx runs
