Please take it easy with our much appreciated and only developer. Most familiar users of the forum know how precarious is porteus situation. Though we know that, we keep being demanding.

After all, porteus 3.2.2 is there. Maybe we should move with slapt-get as an alternative solution as package manager.

    Have you tried a different mirror? http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 512#p53512

Changing my slax mirror from http://salix.hostingxtreme.com to http://mirrors.xmission.com/salix solved the update hang up for me.

And for those of you using the USM GUI click on Settings in the menu then the option to Edit mirror Salix.

For those wishing to edit via terminal mode, note editing the file requires root access. :x

Slackonly finally updated and Kodi Krypton downloaded, but it crashes instantly upon trying to load it -- same problem with darktable. Gparted can't seem to format FAT32 partitions; it fails (not just with the failure to inform the kernel error).

    32 or 64 Bit ?

Please update your profile so one does not have to ask each time.

    e.g.
Darktable (32 Bit) needs lensfun-0.3.2-i486-1_slonly.txz to work.

I am referring to 64-bit; I have edited my profile to reflect that. If darktable (32-bit) requires lensfun-0.3.2-i486-1_slonly.txz, is that not a dependency that USM would resolve on its own? I would like to get some basic image editing software and Kodi Krypton running on 3.2.2; any insight you can offer on how to proceed (since the modules produced by USM do not work) would be appreciated.

    ^
Yep -- cut it out and give it a new title / category

    USM LIBS.TXT - slackonly
Right now, there is a mismatch, LIBS.TXT refers to darktable-2.2.4,
whereas the file on the server is darktable-2.2.5

change this, -- /var/usm/slackonly/LIBS.TXT --, or wait till it has been changed,
to avoid the FATAL LIBS.TXT error.

Tried 3 or 4 different slackware mirrors. All with same outcome:

    Code: Select all

    root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -u slackware

    Downloading: MANIFEST.bz2 DONE
    Downloading: PACKAGES.TXT DONE
    Downloading: LIBS.TXT.gz DONE
There was a problem downloading the file:
