Mmm, I have an upgraded 301 LXDE , with the most of its stuff now from 3.1 or updated

But I dont use savefile at all, just changes-modules And I always run it in Copy2ram as default start now, as sometimes they have no hdd or I need to hot-plug / out from a systems stick and boot an other one, or the power is lost.. and so on.
a fantastic feature in this Linux system layout I must say. :-)

What version on Bash do you run?
# bash -version

brokenman wrote:ElectriQT, please replace your usm.conf in your custom location with the one from /etc/usm/usm.conf and then make your custom changes in it again. The broken LIBS.TXT file may be because of whiteout files in your changes.
Hmm, Now I dont follow you about, how I should do it.
No, there is no usm.conf in a /root/usm Should it really be?

Not in root/usm/local/ , There it is just the "libs.txt" in my folder /local/
(libs.txt , in lowercase letters it is, but I tried rename it with highcases-letters also, no changes. )

Ok, but NOW it is, the new copy of usm.conf from etc/usm/usm.comf

Nope,No change in the LIBS.TXT not found-error, and still all the new "unary operator expected" -lines when I do an update.

(and the changes was already there in this copied original etc/usm/usm.conf file that I did copy to root/usm/local/ now. )

The LIBS-error was there also before I changed to a root/usm storage.

Ok, I even tried to deleted the file in etc/usm now, = usm will not start ,
(so that is the place it load the usm.conf from.)

I now deleted all /root/usm/ stuff

I think I really need to wipeout usm everywhere in my system and do a 3.17 clean install. Dont waste more energy on this if it is just Ed and Me having problems? So how to find all the usm-stuff&places in linux to delete? :-)

Ok so something in your changes modules may be affecting the LIBS.TXT file. I remember there was a problem in 3.0.1 at some stage with whiteout files.

Wiping USM out manually will not help if the problem is indeed in your save modules as they may overwrite the USM file (I don't know your module layout so it is hard to tell).
Not in root/usm/local/ , There it is just the "libs.txt" in my folder /local/
(libs.txt , in lowercase letters it is, but I tried rename it with highcases-letters also, no changes. )
This folder (root/usm/local/) should not exist and most definitely LIBS.TXT should be in uppercase. How did it become lowercase? Yes I think you need to start again with a fresh system and add your changes modules back one at a time until you find the one causing the problem. If you don't do this then the problem will never be found. ALso make sure your USM module you downloaded is the last thing to be loaded. Perhaps name it zz-usm-3.1.7-noarch-1.xzm

Thanks Bogomips. This problem and ElectriQt's problem with the LIBS.TXT file are not related. The missing packages problem will be fixed this weekend. Just need to get time to fix the update system. Probably this Sunday. The missing LIBS.TXT problem is more complex and a result of changes modules and/or mixing of Porteus/USM versions.

Thanks. After uploading 64bit yesterday I was locked out of sourceforge (permission denied) and couldn't upload 32bit stuff. Will do this later tonight as it seems my access is working again.

having pulled in openjre, one would expect openjre to be scanned for dependencies. Also noticed this with a couple of other packages previously.

Btw usm -g ttf-indic still failing.

Updated 32bit to fix missing font.

Regarding the openjre, you need to install the module for it to be processed by USM. It doesn't process modules/packages that you may have downloaded but not installed.
I just tested by downloading openjre and installing and then processing icedtea and it didn't request openjre. Let me know if you find otherwise.

Ok I think I understand what you are saying. In openjre the libraries are buried 5 layers deep in the lib folder and aren't being processed. I remember having this issue before and will have to go back through notes to find why. It may be that I will need to add the dependencies into the extra file. Thanks.
