Failiure opening DVD ROM tray aka "eject"

This happens, when I run asunder, both in 2.0 and 2.1 x86-64.

First, I could eject / open the tray by pushing the drive's open button.

For some reason, always after I run asunder, that fails. Now, for a short time I can use "eject" to open the tray.
But finally, even that fails, also sg_start fails:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/# sg_start -ve /dev/sr0
    Start stop unit command: 1b 00 00 00 02 00
start stop unit: Fixed format, current; Sense key: Not Ready
 Additional sense: Medium removal prevented
device not ready
START STOP UNIT command failed
I tried erasing any info that might got loaded into the drive using sg_reset, but also just got the "Sense key: Not Ready" error.

The only thing that helps is rebooting the system. Any idea what might really cause this bug?
Cheers!
Yours Rava

Yes, starting asunder is enough to start this behaviour.

Yes, the tray can be empty, like it is now... It won't open, no matter what I try... :(

hi Rava,

everything is ok here. started asunder and still can use 'eject' utility or push a button on the tray to open it.
can anybody else confirm this?
