XFCe sound volume control in panel

I miss the XFCe sound volume control in panel in Porteus 2.1...

There is no such thing on some of my 64 bit machines, while it is there on others.
It seems this is due to different hardware, but I cannot select the item by hand using settings manager / panel / items / add new items

Or does it have a name and icon I don't recognize?

//update
Seems, there is some stuff messed up with my local settings, since I found the entry in "notification area"
The icons for Wicd, Retrovol, Clipman and Gdu-notification-daemon are all broken...
All other icons in "notification area" look OK. I have no clue what that is so...

Hi Rava,

Sorry, there's a bug in 2.1 final so the volumeicon doesn't open up alsamixer like it should. To fix it, you can either point ~/.config/volumeicon/volumeicon to open the 'onclick' event with 'xfce4-terminal' instead of 'terminal', or you can create a symlink, e.g. 'cd /usr/bin && ln -sf xfce4-terminal terminal'. I should have fixed this with an update already but have been sidetracked by some other things.

Would you please post a screenshot of your broken icons somewhere? Wicd, retrovol, and gdu-notification-daemon are no longer included in 2.1 (replaced with network manager, volumeicon/alsamixer and udisks2) so if you've added them back in, things might be broken because of my custom panel-icon theme, PXF-panel, which is a collection of panel icons that I like better than the panel icons in the Meliae icon set. That limited icon set is the default but inherits Meliae icons (or hicolor, etc) for anything that's missing. If you've added a different icon set, there may need to be some tweaks.

@Ahau

I did the "cd /usr/bin && ln -sf xfce4-terminal terminal" thingy, now, do I need to restart XFCe or will it start working in the current session?
cause I see no changes... I don't have a multimedia keyboard with extra sound-card keys to test if the icon would show up...

So... in my module that hold my local changes (cause, aside from that I almost always run Port in fresh mode...) I just create that symlink in /usr/bin and at least at the next start all should be okay?

And in my book, we should get an update for XFCe, it might be a small bug, but it will bother all XFCe user who want to use any sounds, and that will be most...

I have no clue if updates for just one brand of GUI is possible in Port, but it should, since a KDE bug won't bother XFCe, and a razor-only bug is of no interest to LXDE and such...
So, me as "just contributor" says we should have the ability to update the sub-flavours, like, that all for now are 2.1, but XFCe gets a 2.1.1, unless one of the other GUIs also needs an update...

...

my 2 cents on that. xD
