[Solved] Mouse won't work when Laptop runs on battery

Whenever I unplug my laptop from the external power source, my external mouse also stops working.

As I recall, in fedora systems, I go to

/etc/sysconfig/ktune

and uncomment something along the lines of "disable usb power management"

plug the source and unplug once again, and everything works.

Can someone tell me what's the Porteus equivalent?

Many thanks.
surio.

hi surio,

please edit /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/usb-autosuspend.conf and either disable this feature completely or blacklist your mouse (follow descriptions).

let us know if that helped as i remember similar issues reported before.

I unplug the mouse, plug it in again, and it works as before! :)

@fanthom,
I disabled the feature completely. Now it works. Thanks very much.

It depends on the computer/laptop model also I think. Older USB chips have this behaviour. :-)
