porteus/aka sensei: missing packages

porteus/aka sensei 3.1rc1 i686 seems not be able to fetch packages that are supposedly in the repository. This is what I realised when trying to build lxqt desktop as from the wiki needed package lxqt (meta) or equivalent to follow with pacman command:

this might be because of the date the ARM repo is set at for 3.1. before lxqt was moved to offical repo
check /etc/pacman.conf
EDIT: oops /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

You are right about the ARM (arch rolling machine), the date is set up at 2014-07-17 but not in pacman.conf, rather in mirrolist. There is a warning:
Do not edit this file if you want a stable system

The server points to US.

this is true francois...the whole system is over a year old. lxqt is newer in the official repos than it was when this system was put together. changing that date in /etc/pacman.d/mirorlist to a more current date...and then pacman -Sy.....lxqt should then install...but more than likely won't work right because the foundation is so old.

And what about setting an intermediate date around april 2015, pacman -Syu, and then another arm date in july 2015, pacman -Syu? Or should I do it more incrementally?

but yea, if you really want to upgrade this old sensei to current day status as to where lxqt has a good chance of installing correctly...i'd change the /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist step by step every two months....so it starts at 7-17-2014, so i'd change it to 9-17-2014, then try pacman -Syu....if worked, next change date to 11-17-2014...then pacman -Syu again...until i get up to yesterday's date. then it should be pretty much current and if it's still even working by that point...lxqt should install.

I have tried a quick dirty shot (10 months )and it did not upgrade. And even a monthly interval shot will yield failing upgrade.

Thus, i will wait your next version or maybe that of brokenman.

not really, as sources are released upstream they are packaged and after a time in the 'testing' repos with no bugs reported, are moved to the main repos..
some days there are lots of updates, others not.
the arch install media is updated periodicly, but it is just a net install client.

the 'Arch Linux Archive' on the other hand, is a daily snapshot of the repos, from the last couple of years, very handy to find a specific software version..
