Dual boot with Windows 10 and UEFI

Leave it to me to find the edgiest of edge cases. I have a Dell Inspiron 20-3043 which has factory Windows 10. I'd like to install the Porteus Kiosk as a permanent bootable partition, but keeping Windows around in case we need it in the future. Problem is that UEFI is blocking the USB installation of any Linux platform except for the Porteus Kiosk Wizard. Upon that, Kiosk Wizard will overwrite the Windows Partition, as opposed to "Wizarding" the install into a separate partition and update the bootmanager.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

As a temporary solution install the system to a USB flash drive and boot it from there. You will have to tweak the BIOS/EFI to boot the USB drive before the hard drive and probably have to disable Secure Boot.

You will then be able to boot Porteus and if you need to boot Windows, simply shutdown Porteus, remove the USB drive and reboot the Dell. :good:

Kiosk must be burnt on the block device - it wont boot otherwise (one of the security layers). Please use usb stick as advised.
