[SOLVED] Porteus Kiosk 3.3.0 doesn't run as Live on USB key

Post#1 by psantofe » 06 Mar 2015, 08:44

Hi Folks!
I downloaded both "Porteus-Kiosk-3.3.0-i486" and "Porteus-Kiosk-UEFI-3.3.0-i486" to test un my USB key; but found problems on both.
My operations are:
- upload ISO on 1GB USB Key using Unetbootin from Linux (I use Ubuntu Distribution);
- Restart machine;
- select KIOSK;
Some modules not found so system reset.
Both ISOs made the same.
I'm interesting in Live distribution, so a small ISO as Portues kiosk is a good solution for me
Any idea?
Thanks
Paolo

hi Paolo,

1) please verify md5sum after download
2) please use plain 'dd' utility and not unetbootin, rufus, etc as advised on kiosk download page:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/download.html#usb
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

Brilliant!
Using "dd" comand, all is done!
Thanks
