Disable automatic updates on Porteus kiosk 6.0.0

Hi,
I'm using Porteus Kiosk 6.0.0 for a wifi connection to a device (Soundcraft Ui24R mixer) providing a web interface.
This device is off and updates will never be available in my case.

I'd like to turn off the automatic updates feature to earn time on boot.
As mentioned in the reference guide, I added this in my conf:

automatic_updates=no

but it has no effect.
Did I missed something ?

Hi Alban.
Porteus Kiosk section of the forum is unmaintained now. Its kept in a 'read only' mode for archival purposes.
