when I use Remote Management session_idle=3 doesn't work
how can this be fixed

here is my config

Hello there,

Few issues to address:

1) Are you really using ancient kiosk 3.6 release as your profile suggest?
2) You should post in the kiosk section of the forum only
3) 'disable_address_bar=yes' and 'autohide_navigation_bar=yes' parameters works for Firefox browser only

Mind that session will be restarted only if user activity is detected. Please move the mouse and wait 3 mins till the browser is restarted (may be better to set it to '1' minute for testing).
If this wont be the case then please contact with support@porteus-kiosk.org and i'll request associating your kiosk with my PK Server for debugging.

For the install i downloaded the latest iso image ver. 4.7 and made a bootable USB drive but when it installs it uses ver. 3.6

This is not possible (kiosk 3.6 is really old and 32bit).
The only explanation is that you have mixed up usb sticks.
