hp t510 thin client, which has VIA VT8237A HDA sound card, using VT82XX driver under alsa.

Microphone not recording or working in browser or arecord

alsamixer shows Mic, Mic Boost levels above 80%

Found that Capture also needs to be enabled, either

alsamixer, F5: all, arrow to CAPTURE, press spacebar to toggle
Append to /etc/rc.d/local/rc.sound in 003-settings.xzm

Please provide output of 'amixer' command or (better) generate debug report and send to support@porteus-kiosk.org.
I'll try to fix this bug in next release.

Perhaps its easier to use 'run_command=' parameter (no need to remaster the ISO).
