[SOLVED] Wifi and audio on Asus stick PC

Post#1 by Literallywho » 16 Dec 2015, 17:54

Hello,

I've recently installed Porteus kiosk on an Asus Stick PC (QM1).
The wifi on the pre-installed windows 10 worked correctly, but under proteus kiosk, the device's Wifi isn't detected, although a USB wireless pen is. As per http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=5246, I'll send the debug info shortly. Unfortunately I can't for the life of me figure out what wireless card this thing has, as the specifications given in the manuals are just as vague as the ones on their website...
I haven't been able to boot any other linux (or windows) live boot to check said the card's information, but I'll contact Asus support if deemed necessary.

As for the HDMI audio, as you'll see in the debug info, there are no audio devices detected on the machine, although the video display works correctly. All related issues I've found, lspci outputs the card correctly but aplay doesn't detect the card, which is not the case, and as such a simple alsa update wouldn't do the trick. (e.g. http://askubuntu.com/questions/411780/c ... enovo-g560).
Pardon my ignorance, but is there some module I'm missing in order for this to work?

UPDATE:
Turns out it's probably a simple case of missing drivers, nothing much to add here.

We can help troubleshooting. What is the output of lspci in command line?

Thanks for your reply but i cant seem able to enter terminal the information i found about enter terminal in kiosk is to enable SSH and that involved modfying the iso image
'/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-xorg.conf'.

as i am using a windows environment, I think i can unpack setting xzm using 7zip and rebuild the xzm by cygwin, i will try it out later today.
