Hi everyone,
we have some panel-pcs with VIA-Boards and try to get Porteus-Kiosk to run on them, but after loading all modules in text-mode the screen gets black an nothing more happens.
Could this be a graphics driver error ? The systems has the following graphics: VIA Technologies, Inc. CX700/VX700 [S3 UniChrome Pro].

psinfo can be found here: http://pastebin.com/BJYNfjCx

I'd be glad if someone could help !

Hello Andre,

Unfortunately VIA GPUs are not supported well under Linux. If the GPU does not work out of the box then there is not much we can do about it. I could create a custom build for you which would force using unaccelerated VESA driver in kiosk. If this driver is enough then please contact me through builds@porteus-kiosk.org.

Thank you.

@pigme
Unfortunately this driver wont work as is coming from Slackware which uses different Xorg version (ABI mismatch) then Gentoo.
Besides - we have the same driver version in kiosk:

Thank you for trying to help.

Hi fanthom,
thanks for your quick response !

As we don't want to invest in new hardware without having tried all other options, you'll hear from me via builds@porteus-kiosk.org soon.

André
