[Solved] System goes down

Hello,

I've updated to 3.4.0 very recently and I am loving the built in features! I am making use of the remote configuration and it is an amazing feature.

One problem I am having is that even if I choose NOT to enable the shutdown combination, people are still able to turn off the computer just by pressing the power button. I would like to prevent people from shutting down the kiosk, unless the power button is held down for 10 seconds.

This feature worked for version 3.1, so it seems that this may be a bug.

hHello feist,

this is not a bug, please have a look on the changelog:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/changelog-releases.html#3.4.0

Code: Select all

If 'shutdown menu' feature is not enabled in the wizard then allow powering off the PC by pressing the power button. If user has a physical access to the PC then can force kiosk shutdown by holding the button for 5 secs anyway and its better to power off the machine gently.
if you want to prevent users from powering off the kiosk then your have to block a physical access to the power button.
if this is not possible and you want the old behavior then please remaster the ISO and delete /etc/acpi/default.sh through /etc/rc.d/rc.local.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

Thank you, I did not know that the default behavior had been changed. I donated yesterday because I love how Porteus Kiosk is coming along. Keep up the good work!
