FAA enable pop-up windows

Hello,
Using Porteus-Kiosl 3.2.0.
Porteus Kiosl Wizard FIREFOX SETTINGS:
- nomepage = enable
- user agent = enable
- file browsing = disable
- navigation bar = disable
- autohide navigation bar = greyed out
- address bar = greyed out

SSYSTEM SETTINGS
- mouse cursor = disabled

Brun image to CD: OK. The browser starts full screen, but ...
Now I cannot enable pop-up windows.

Tried seveal other options. Nothing helps.

Is the 'Pop-up enable/disble missing in the Wizard/
Thank you for a great kiosk program.
Kind regards,
Dirk

I think there is no pop-up windows enabled for security reasons. But maybe a more knowledgeable person will intervene and correct me.

Why do you prefer kiosk to the standard edition?

It seems I was wrong. Here is the solution for kiosk. Google could have been your friend:
Disable Popup Blocker
Prendre son temps, profiter de celui qui passe.

Dear Francois,
Thank you for your quick replies. Below the replies to your questions:

- Why use Porteus Kiosk? We http://websiteatschool.eu have an "interactive flyer" application (a kind of interactive slideshow ) that opens in a pop-up window. It is operated with the arrow buttons that are separated from the keyboard.

The post about the solution:
I have found that post, but could not find that particular part of the documentation. Mabye I overlooked it. I have very limited vision. Can you point me to the right URL? Does it also explain how to edit the 003-settings.xzm file? I tried to open the file with a normal editor but could not find any clues. I'm a rather inexperienced Linux user.

Hope you can help us. With kind regards,
Website@School Development Team
Dirk

Download:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/wizard.html

Wizard functioning:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/wizard.html

There was FAQ for kiosk in the porteus FAQ but it has been moved.

See if you can work thru it by reinstalling kiosk with the wizard and following the instructions in this already mentioned post:
Disable Popup Blocker

If not fanthom the expert will have a look at this thread.

Cher Francois,
Thank you for your suggestions. After finding the documentation I could follow the post of 'unblock pop-up windows':
"...please remaster the ISO as per kiosk documentation ..."
I could put the Porteus-Kiosk<version>.iso in:
/tmp/kiosk_ISO
Then I tried to follow the advice:
" ...and add following parameter to 003-settings.xzm/home/guest/.mozilla/firefox/c3pp43bg.default/prefs.js:

Code: Select all
user_pref("dom.disable_open_during_load", false); "
However, in 003-settings.xzm is a file:
root@cxxx:/tmp/kiosk_ISO/xzm# ls -l
total 55984
-rw-r--r-- 1 dirk dirk 7241728 2014-12-21 12:49
000-kernel.xzm
-rw-r--r-- 1 dirk dirk 12742656 2014-12-16 22:32
001-core.xzm
-rw-r--r-- 1 dirk dirk 31875072 2014-12-02 11:35
002-firefox.xzm
-rw-r--r-- 1 dirk dirk 974848 2015-02-13 15:55
003-settings.xzm
-rw-r--r-- 1 dirk dirk 4481024 2015-01-20 17:35
004-wifi.xzm
root@c36:/tmp/kiosk_ISO/xzm#

What to do?
Thank you for your help,
Salutations cordiales,
Dirk
