When installing Porteus Kiosk onto a generic Windows 8 tablet a loud high pitch sound came out the built-in speakers throughout the whole installation (from the time Porteus' boot screen comes up to when I restarted). Thankfully there is no high pitch sound once Porteus is installed on the local disk.
Now I'm trying to install Porteus on a Microsoft Surface 3 tablet (not Pro, not RT). The high pitch sound was again present throughout the whole installation, but this time the sound is present while Porteus is installed (in the local disk). As soon as Porteus' boot screen hits, the sound starts.
Any idea what is happening? Any tips on getting the sound to stop (both during installation and when installed)?

High pitch noise on Windows tablets
Hello discombobulated,
More than likely you will need a customized kiosk build with PulseAudio added:

I had similar issue on my tablet and adding PA resolved the problem.
Thanks
