is it possible to add write support for USB devices?

I've set up one of these with USB device support for one of our clients, it's great but they want to be able to download pdf's from .gov websites and save them to a USB stick.

I've managed to get the USB to load and they can read from it (read only as the documentation states) but would be great if I could add read/write suppport too.

Any ideas?

Hello filfish,

Write access for usb devices is possible in variant "Cloud":
http://porteus-kiosk.org/cloud.html
Removable devices (usb sticks, flash cards) are mounted with write access. Users must click on the "eject removable device" button in order to unmount them safely.

That's great, just what I was after, will need to play around with that now to get it as needed but USB works a treat.

Thank you

Hmm, how do I remove the button bar at the bottom now and shutdown button? In the options the shutdown button is disabled but it is still there1

When devices are mounted with write access they must by unmounted safely and then removed otherwise downloaded file may get corrupted as not fully saved (write delay on usb devices).

You must have a bottom panel with 'safe unmount' launcher.
