Re: [Solved] Broadcom wirelesdriver doesn't work on Macbook
according to http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43, the 14e4:4353 chipset is supported by brcmsmac driver and not b43. could you confirm that brcmsmac for sure does not work with 14e4:4353? please mind that brcm firmware must be added prior to testing (missing in 000-kernel.xzm by default...

[Solved] Broadcom wirelesdriver doesn't work on Macbook Air.
Porteus v2.0 works quite well on Macbooks, but while developing a few of us ran into problems getting the wireless chipset of a Macbook Air functioning. The model ID of the chipset is Broadcom BCM43224, and the PCI ID is 14e4:4353. None of the Broadcom drivers we tried worked with the chipset - most...

Re: So, how would I disable wicd-client.py?
chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.wicd The startup script will look for an executable .rc file and run it. We did that - it works fine for deactivating the daemon but the client-side applet still comes up, complains, and asks the user for permission to restart it. That is fine for most users but in our particu...

So, how would I disable wicd-client.py?
As part of a project, I am trying to figure out how to prevent the wicd-client.py utility from running when the desktop starts up. Disabling the wicd utility daemon was as easy as editing /etc/rc.d/rc.M, but now when the desktop starts the user is presented with an error window asking to run the wic...

Upstream bug in wicd-cli, fix included.
Hi. While working with the wicd-cli utility (/usr/share/wicd/cli/wicd-cli.py) I ran across a bug in the option parser that prevents the utility from being used to configure encryption on a wireless network interface. Before the fix, the command wicd-cli --wireless --network=0 --network-property=enct...

Re: Greetings: new user, distro developer.
i'm wonder if your distro is the one which pizarr0 was talking about in this thread: http://porteus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=516&p=5692#p5647 Reading what pizarr0 described, it does not appear that he is talking about Project Byzantium. It would be flattering if he was, but it sounds like he ...

Greetings: new user, distro developer.
Hello, everyone. I am a relatively new user of Porteus Linux - I tend to carry a couple of live distributions around with me for various tasks, but Porteus is definitely one of the more interesting and useful ones for me. I am one of the developers of a derivative distribution of Porteus called Proj...

Subversion repository of new Porteus packages.
Greetings, salutations, and health everyone. This post really should go under the "Porteus Derivatives" sub-forum, but there was no way to create a new topic in there (possibly because I am a new user), so here it is. I am one of the developers of a Porteus derivative called Project Byzantium , a di...
