[Solved]from= cheatcode (Porteus 2.0 rc1 x86-64)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everybody! I'm trying to use Porteus 2.0 rc1 x86-64, but without "from_dir=" I'm stuck with "from=" cheatcode. In one of the examples it's used like this: "from=UUID:STrING-0F-ChARACtERS/path/folder" but when I'm trying to use it like this: APPEND initrd=initrd....

Gwenview always using "Zoom To Fit"?

Hi all! I've noticed that there ar no image viewer that can show images with their original size by default. Gwenview and image viewer always resize pictures so they fit to window. Even if I disable this, next picture will be shown with the same "Zoom To Fit" option. I wasn't able to dig enough info...

Re: vga_detect problem.

Not related problem... Trying to activate module in the folder with spaces (for example "SP UFD 16G", path "/mnt/sdb3/SP UFD 16G/") results in 3 errors: "SP: Module must end with .xzm" "UFD: Module must end with .xzm" "Module is already activated. Deactivate?" Same modules work when path doesn't con...

Re: vga_detect problem.

It was long since I've had to use use internet explorer to register somewhere, but at least it worked (unlike with firefox).
Links that shouldn't (theoretically) require registration:

Re: vga_detect problem.

Ah. Sorry then. Thank you, fanthom!

Err... It says I should register to download it from 4shared... =(
If I'll download porteus 1.2-x86_64 anew from ponce.cc, will I find this patched initrd there?

vga_detect problem.

Hi all! Currently I'm using Porteus 1.2 x86_64 + update (kernel 3.4.9) and this cheatcode doesn't work for ATi Radeon 4650. It recognizes videocard properly and says that driver will be activated if present, but module isn't being loaded. Using load=ati-fglrx-legacy.xzm helps and then driver is bein...

Re: conky 1.8.1 + deps

Sorry, was absent for a long time.
And didn't find a way to upload files there (if somebody know how to do it with their new interface, please tell me) so i uploaded conky-1.8.1-2.xzm to depositfiles.com

Re: conky 1.8.1 + deps

@Hamza Sorry I can't understand what you wanted to say... There's parameter "alignment" at the top of configuration file. Text alignment on screen, {top,bottom,middle}_{left,right,middle} or none. Can also be abbreviated with first chars of position, ie. tr for top_right. Aligned position on screen,...

Re: conky 1.8.1 + deps

I'm tinkering with configuration from time to time, here's newer one. No dependencies needed because I switched from pseudo-transparency to real transparency... alignment bottom_right background yes border_inner_margin 8 border_width 2 color1 white # light blue color2 red color3 brown color4 green c...

Re: Porteus-v1.1rc2-x86_64 ready for testing

@fanthom Yes, it was because of vga-detect. Here's the results for clean rc2: vga-detect + optional/nVidia-*.xzm = mounted, can't unmount vga-detect + empty optional directory = mounted, can't unmount load=nVidia-*.xzm = unmounted, everything's fine Here's output with loaded nVidia module (but most ...

Re: Porteus-v1.1rc2-x86_64 ready for testing

@Ahau Yes, I always use copy2ram I just forgot to mention it... And actually I just wanted to know if mounting boot partition to /mnt/live/mnt was intentional =) @Hamza ... Ok I understand that use of /mnt/live/mnt/. was intentional. As I said, it's not a problem. Although it's weird that usb flash ...

Re: Porteus-v1.1rc2-x86_64 ready for testing

I noticed that USB flash with Porteus 1.1rc2 x86_64 mounts to /mnt/live/mnt/sd* instead of /mnt/sd*
I'm still not sure if it's normal or not, but just so you know...
Also I can't unmount it (with copy2ram cheatcode)...
