Re: Отсутствует звук в браузере

Когда-то давно я писал вот такой пост Hi all! In the past I had a nightmare with usb soundcard when PC is already have one. I didn't find solution to this problem yet (because they usually used the same driver snd_hda_intel ) but recently I've found a simple solution that does not "hardcode" soundca...

Re: Porteus LXDE + FVWM (Japanese/English)

Sorry, I almost forgot to post my fvwm modules:
https://cbkoin.ru:450/uploads/Files/fvwm.zip

There are many additional modules there: icons, gtk theme, compositor (for shadows and transparency).
And I probably forgot something...

Re: Update the kernel of Porteus v3.1

@Kriss Although (/usr/src/linux/uart/include/linux/version.h) something is unknown, By analogy from the existing relationship (/usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h -> uapi/linux/version.h), (linux-3.18.19/include/linux/version.h -> ../generated/uapi/linux/version.h) ,may be possible, could be use...

Re: Update the kernel of Porteus v3.1

neko, can you please provide 05-devel.xzm (x86 and x86_64) for 3.18.19 kernel? Then I'll compile Nvidia 352.21 modules. I tried to use standard 05-devel.xzm + kernel-3.18.19 sources but failed. Nvidia installer didn't find "/usr/src/linux/uart/include/linux/version.h". This file doesn't exist in ker...

Re: Porteus LXDE + FVWM (Japanese/English)

@Kriss 1. FVWM created by compiling It is great!! On the opposite, I make a FVWM ISO by gathering object files. You wrote "I can upload any of this if you want." If you open a new 'Porteus FVWM' thread, everybody can get your results. And then I will close this 'Porteus LXDE+FVWM' thread. (I think ...

Re: Porteus LXDE + FVWM (Japanese/English)

Yes, screenshots would be nice, dont recommend to include a naked woman wallpaper, 15 tabs opened in the cluttered internet browser and cyrillic os fonts. Also the youtube 360 videos dont even start on the new chrome module by neko. Неплохой монитор, Kriss. Sorry, I didn't notice the girl until it ...

Re: Porteus LXDE + FVWM (Japanese/English)

First of all, as I said, I've compiled that FVWM by myself with all patches I've found (rounded corners, button width, menu transparency and so on). I use Porteus 3.1 (x86_64) + LXDE module from porteus 3.0 + FVWM 2.6.5 + patches Compositor (for true transparency and shadows) - Compton Decorations -...

Re: Porteus LXDE + FVWM (Japanese/English)

Hello! Just wanted to thank you for your your efforts! It's one of the most customizable window managers I ever used. Default FVWM doesn't catch anoyone's eye, but very addictive once you tune it for yourself. =) I didn't try your version yet, but I'll do it today. =) My current setup looks like thi...

Re: Wishlist for porteus 3.1

no worries guys - 32bit arch is not going to be dropped anytime soon. that would be a shoot in our own feet as many people recommend porteus for older PCs. i was just wondering the reaction of the community. was expecting plenty of emotional comments but got quite calm and constructive feedback. th...

Re: Wishlist for porteus 3.1

drop 64 bit...32 bit fits all.. ..up to now has 64 bit no real Advantages.. Some people (like me) use it on systems with more than 4Gb of RAM. 95% of the time it's 8 - 16 Gb in my case. AFAIK, most 32bit programs have the same limitations. P.S. PAE kernel doesn't work on some of the CPUs (as I was ...

Re: Porteus v3.1rc1 bug reports

That's strange... I'm currently playing "Star Wars: The Old Republic" (relatively new mmorpg) using the driver I posted on GeForce GTX 560 Ti and everything is fine.
I'm currently using Porteus 3.1rc1 x86_64 LXQt (+KDE because I prefer kwin with rounded corners over openbox in LXQt).

Re: Wishlist for porteus 3.1

I'd like to suggest to rename all x86_64 core modules so instead of, for example, two 05-devel modules we'll have "05-devel.xzm" and "05-devel64.xzm"
Same for "vmlinuz" and "initrd.xz".
