Starting a service under sysvinit available for systemd .deb file

Thanks for the reply. Finally, I returned the chromecast device as I already had a LG intelligent TV. Chromecast was obsolete, especially that I had a google TV device.

Thanks.

virtual reality accessible: google cardboard

@brokenman: This means that you have a samsung phone S5, S6, S7 or s8. So you are using applications based on the oculus rift? A S6 could be bought here in Canada for a little more than 200$. What model of phone do you have and how is the performance? Could this be still a good purchase given that S...

virtual reality accessible: google cardboard

Browsing to get to know some more about virtual reality, I realised that the market for such an experience could be ridiculously cheap if you already have an android or an iphone, with the google cardboard vr headset: https://vr.google.com/cardboard/ Some of the devices could be bought for less than...

plank the dock of elementary os for porteus linux

Creating plank .dockitem adapting the instructions to porteus configuration: http://meshfields.de/change-icons-plank-dock/ 1.0 open an App Komodo for example and make it sticky in the dock, this will create a komodo.dockitem file you will need later. 2.0 create a komodo.desktop file with nano or any...

mkchromecast

Finally, I have returned the chromecast gadget. At home we have a supposedly intelligent LG TV which connects to the internet. Has any of you have a method other than mkchromecast to cast from their linux box to their intelligent TV?

Using ffmpeg to record what comes from the web browser

In fact, I would prefer to download the original source file. I imagine that it should provide the maximum video resolution which is not limited to the screen that you have on the linux box. You would have a way to find or dig the original source file, whether from the web?
Thanks.

Using ffmpeg to record what comes from the web browser

Hello donald. Thanks for responding promptly. I am recording now with your help. I am very happy with that possibility. My son will be very happy to listen to that recording of that researcher that we have here in Montreal, a specialist in artificial intelligence, Joshua Bengio. :D By any mean, woul...

openrc the system behind nemesis: printing as an example

Solution: Always fresh (without changes) will yield the printing module as proposed in the first post. So in the future, I will be building only in only fresh mode . Thanks. Plank module though functional before reboot will not be functional without the changes. So lets dig it in the thread for plank.

Using ffmpeg to record what comes from the web browser

I am trying to record with ffmpeg an interview from a radio station here in Montreal: Here is the data for my card: fl@fl-Satellite-Z930:~$ arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC269VC Analog [ALC269VC Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: sub...

openrc the system behind nemesis: printing as an example

1.0 Is there a way to flush changes without login out of nemesis? I find it much time consuming to do so to remove changes from another install like porteus for example. 2.0 Same result at second try. Impossible to build the printer module. Pacman -Sy will not be sufficient. :( Heads up for you. :ha...
