Sound not working

Can't get sound working. I've seen http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... lsa#p61806 that changing preferences from pulseaudio to alsa works, but no luck for me.

Any advice?

Cheers!

Setting up locale

I've tried to

Code: Select all

setup-locale
with no success. A module is built, but the language still is english.

How do I ???

(Also how can I save Numlock state?)

Thanks

useful commands , anyone to add

Dealing with Nemesis this weekend I've found some interesting things: pacaur -S yaourt-gui and you'll get a nice gui for you to enjoy the plethora of packages available in Arch land (although is launched in terminal) Others oneliners I've found useful given dir2xzm and xzm2dir are not working for me...

2018 Updated Base Modules

Ok, thanks very much Jack and ncmprhnsbl

I think I have it all now. Probably I've missed the pkg2xzm command.

Will try again and come with some feedback.

BTW, ncmprhnsbl I've noticed this 003-xfce4-20180128.xzm of yours doesn't have the xfce4-whiskermenu panel plugin. How is that?

Cheers!

pman does not build module mupdf

So, I've put all this stuff in a pendrive and booted fine. Then 1.- setup-pman 2.- pman -S mupdf and I can see the package downloaded at /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mupdf-1.12.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz but it is not converted to .xzm module. I've been trying with other packages as well with same results. Then...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

@neko

I've tried to build Aporteus Deepin. I get to the login window, but not to the desktop. I've seen there are two login managers: lightdm and lxdm Which config file must I modify to solve it?

Thanks

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

In addition to @raja feedback, I've found that Nautilus is not showing image previews in Aporteus Budgie, while Openbox (pcmanfm) , XFCE (thunar) are doing well. Also I think something is missing with python setup. I have several packages using python2 an python3, but they refuse to work (in normal ...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

@Jack If you booted with copy2ram cheatcode, all your work will be lost after a reboot unless you save it before. Also, keep in mind, if you are going to download a bunch of packages, and create an ISO out of them, you should have enough memory to allocate all this stuff. (let's say >=16 Gb ) @Ed_P...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

@Jack

In Gnome 3 and relatives, I think it's not ALT+Left Mouse Button.

Try WIN + Left Mouse Button to drag a window.

(WIN or your equivalent key depending on your keyboard).

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

I've been trying the Porteus 4.0 rc1 and I must say it's amazing. Impressive job. Fast and straightforward. Has all of the convenient needs. One thing I've found that maybe should be modified: MD5 hash in right click menu says: ' Calculate MD5 ' (or something similar), when in fact, it tries to perf...

Wishlist for nemesis-artix

I wish I could build my favourtite flavour of Nemesis. (XFCE, Budgie, Deepin, Mate...) Providing a textlist of packages needed to recreate the different DE barebone (I.E. without bloating apps) would be nice. I would love to see a Nemesis Deeping (without Deeping apps) for example.Or maybe a Nemesis...
