2019 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

but if you now have porteus.conf working properly Sadly not. Boot was fine with the old kernel from the 3.5 ISO. I was wrongly blamming the initrd.xz , but this has come with newer kernel versions... This is what /var/log/rc.log says: ... * Bringing up interface lo * Caching network module dependen...

2019 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

How can I store my wireless connections?

I've saved /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/*.nmconnection

in my rootcopy folder, but NetWorkManager doesn't seem to recognize them after reboot.

2019 Updated Nemesis Base Modules

Finally downloaded a fresh copy of the old Nemesis 3.5 iso, and placed initrd.xz in the USB stick, then /etc/porteus.d folder came back.

The one included in the skel.zip at first post, seems to be different.

Cheers!

one step missing: make the .Appimage executable. either by in terminal: chmod +x example.appimage Yes, thank you. I've cooked a fast trick to dynamically change the launchers to AppImages. #!/bin/bash # setAppImagesLinks # change ".desktop" AppImages links based upon boot partition # ".desktop" lau...

The config that was used at build 64bit kernel 5.1.17: v5.1.17/64/64bit.config:# Compiler: gcc (GCC) 9.1.0 Porteus-OPENBOX-v5.0rc1-k5.1.17-x86_64.iso was built by replacing (vmlinuz & 000-kernel.xzm) of Porteus-OPENBOX-v5.0rc1-x86_64.iso with ones of 64bit-ALL-kernel5.1.17.tar. Neko - thank you very much for all your kernel work! Outstanding. Ed - the UEFI spec doesn't really mandate use of vfat. You can use ANY filesystem you want for EFI partitions, as long as your efi driver supports it. Hence, if one really wanted to, they could be "fat free" and run solely say from a...

I think that not bad if brokenman replace kernel and all stuff (vmlinuz, 000-kernel.xzm, 06-crippled_sources.xzm) for him to current 5.1.xx kernel by neko in all ISO files and sync updated ISO files in the all Porteus mirrors.

Howto: Popular AppImages one click away

I've discovered a bunch of AppImages that I find interesting. Will update the list in the first post. Also found the way to dynamically choose the right path to the apps at boot time: bootpart=`echo $PORTDIR | awk -F '/' '{ print $3 }'` and then: sed -i "s/sdb1/$bootpart/g" /home/guest/.local/share/...

What is the difference?
Fresh --> early adopter (6.2.5) as of now
Standard --> Previous branch (6.2.4)
Still --> Enterprise / Corporate use (6.1.6)

See here.

Yes, I guess you're right. The question is, NTFS is readable for many devices out there. Think of using the USB stick to a wide range of multimedia files, videos, music, epubs... I'm on my way to find the perfect mobility solution on my pocket ;) Also, would I be able to load my custom modules from ...

Thenceforth, I'm experiencing sloooow boot times. (I think you too). :%)

Thank you.

Yes, symlinks are supported in NTFS, but not in FAT filesystem. FAT supports EFI, but you can't boot EFI witih NTFS. And this is where the journey begins with laptops and secure boot and BIOS updates... Cheers! P.S.: I asked in another thread if anyone knows how to create a USB stick with a FAT boot...
