Re: user convenience

Welcome bb! I have included a backup of boot sector in next release, along with a boot sector utility for restoring under win. I like the idea of an md5sum check at boot time although at this stage the user has already unpacked any compressed file and it may not be available on the file system they ...

[SCRIPT] Unpack compressed files

Do you keep forgetting the different switches for unpacking tarballs? Paste this into a text file, save it as /usr/bin/unpack Make it executable: chmod +x /usr/bin/unpack Now to unpack most compressed files just use: unpack myfile.tar.bz2 #!/bin/bash INPUT=$1 FEXT=$(echo $1 | grep -o '\.[^.]*$') cas...

[SCRIPT] Easy source builder

This is a script i use for building a module from source code. It works on the premise that the DESTDIR variable is available in the source, otherwise the script will fail. The script stops at key places so you can look for errors and abort if you choose. Disregard to errors at end, just unquoted va...

[SCRIPT] Easy module activation

This is a very simple script i wrote to make activating modules an easy task for me. I store all of my modules in the optional folder like my own personal repo. Sometimes i pre-pend the modules with the subject of their use. For example office-gcalc.lzm office-kwrite.lzm etc. I can activate all of m...

Re: Site Suggestions

Sorry, chat function is at full width. I can change the height only. With a different style it may be wider. Blaze is now the forum admin, he can change what he thinks is needed.

EDIT: Blaze has changed styles so chat is bigger now.

Re: Site Suggestions

Thanks Blaze. Need to talk to you about the forum. The main site won't exist until we find a name for the distro so it can be rebranded.

New distro name

I kind of like 'FanthomX' as a distro name. Please make some other suggestions so we can get the ball rolling. http://www.learnslax.com/images/tmp/fanthom1-lowres-tbg.png http://www.learnslax.com/images/tmp/fanthom2-lres-tbg.png http://www.learnslax.com/images/tmp/fanthom3-lres-tbg.png http://www.le...

Re: Just To Say Hi

Hi... I think the right menu should be smaller, and forum area should be bigger, but i can't find in the code where to alter this. May have to switch styles if i can't figure it out.
