Retpoline?

The entire basis of modern day parallel computing has been exploited. This is not the end of 'spectre like' attack vectors.

Retpoline?

Yes retpoline aware gcc is only a very recent thing in slackware. It is very possible that many modules were not compiled with it. The GCC version in Porteus-4.0+ is retpoline aware and I would imagine that any slackware kernel-firmware package after the release of Porteus-4.0 would also have been c...

Porteus-4.0 is in the pipeline.

All sorted? I'm locking this thread since p4 is live and this is not a bug thread.

C'mon Jack. Give us the goods. Nobody will hold anything against you if you don't answer questions about problems.

Since Porteus Nemesis came to life it's been a while...
Yes it has, and the noise about systemd has even faded a bit.

Porteus-4.0 is in the pipeline.

I used the newer firmware pack that is in the mirror, kernel-firmware-20180211_6d51311-noarch-1.txz
Nothing..
Does this mean the ernel-firmware package didn't resolve your issue? The device still isn't recognized after the firmware is loaded or there was no firmware for your device?

Porteus-v4.0rc4 bug reports

Therefore... I'm trying to point out something is broken. If something is broken please give specific examples of exactly where you believe that python is broken. My belief is that it is not broken at all, but rather missing some dependencies required for compiling. If those dependencies are absolu...

Please post elsewhere about preferences. This thread is for bug reports. I'd like to minimize noise or else it makes sorting through bugs more difficult.

Porteus-v4.0rc4 bug reports

The combined package size of a tcl/tk I believe is just south of 5mb. Yes that's true, but where do we stop? Open a console and run: usm -d You will find many more missing dependencies. So the decision to be made is, where is the balance of size and usability? Do we build for developers, GUI users,...

Google-earth-pro-7.3.0.3827 for Porteus

Thanks Wread, Please guys, keep non official Porteus posts out of the mainstream forum. I don't want this to turn into a mess. For example post about APorteus ONLY in the Aporteus thread. Post about Nemesis ONLY in the nemesis thread. In this one thread we have three different variations of the offi...

Porteus-v4.0rc4 bug reports

Hi brokenman... I can't seem to locate the Python 2 deps tcl/tk in 001-core.xzm... You can download them via usm or the getpkg script: getpkg tcl @burdi01 Updates will be tested and then pushed via two channels. One will be a new ISO and the other will be base module updates via the update-porteus ...
