Problem at reboot with kernel 4.19.2

I need to figure out why the manual compilation of the kernel is giving problems at the boot and no problems if I use the compiled modules
Have you tried just applying the patch from Neko's module and seeing if it boots?

BTW please upload logs to pastebin for easier viewing.

Problem at reboot with kernel 4.19.2

There may be a more usable error in /var/log/Xorg

Have you tried booting into text mode and running cache-module before running startx?

Porteus using Debian

I'd need a system information dump to troubleshoot your problem.

Porteus using Debian

If this is Porteus, or based on Porteus why is there ZERO mention or credit given? Have they used Porteus as a base to create this?

Anybody use nvidia with Porteus?

But I believe we're going to fix all this for the next release of Porteus
I hope so because I will probably get one.
If you can give it a good home I'll ship it to you
I can certainly give it a good home. I need to get one to test this nvidia debacle.

Thanks for your strong opinion Linus. I appreciate that you feel strongly about this point or you wouldn' have taken the time to register and post. I approved your post because I believe in free speech, but i have to say I disagree with you. Porteus can most certainly work without having to enter a ...

cannot create a bootable porteus USB stick

Welcome to Porteus. I have a question. Are you running a BIOS system or UEFI? In any case, you need to simply unpack the Porteus ISO and copy the files onto the USB stick. What you do next depends on if you are using a BIOS or UEFI system. If BIOS system you need to enter into the boot folder and ru...

Hey fanthom,

I haven't looked into patreon but you're right, everyone is using it. I even saw a dog trainer using it well. I'll take a look.

[Solved] Security Boot Fail

But my Porteus 4.0 flash drive is running on a Secure Boot EFI machine. How secure is that really? The idea with secure boot is to NOT have any unsigned binary load. If the vmlinuz of Porteus was not signed then it really shouldn't load. I was running Porteus with secure boot for ages but I got sic...
