Re: How to autoconnect on a wifi network during boot?

brokenman , thanks. I'll try this later. :) I don't think it's a bug, but maybe not the best default. OK not saving the password by default. But saving the connection as a default one on the first connect (if there'is no other previously chosen) maybe is a better approach in my opinion. What you th...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

Thanks fulalas but it didn't work. Booting without the NVidia driver module does boot so I was able to run some terminal commands. At this point I suspect the HP notebook isn't using a NVidia controller. Considering this log you provided and the positive feedback ncmprhnsbl gave me regarding the dr...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

@fulalas, thanks for the nvidia-340 module.. tested on my fx210 card and works for me(no surprise) Great! :) but.. did notice the vga_detect cheatcode didn't work(with module in /optional) the solution was quite simple: rename to n V idia-340.... now cheatcode works :) Hmmm... I'll rename it then. ...

How to autoconnect on a wifi network during boot?

I've managed to save my wifi network password (creating a xzm module of /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/), but after a reboot the wifi connection is down so I have to manually connect it every time (although it doesn't ask for the password anymore). So where's the folder/file that tells which...

How to create a Nvidia driver xzm module

This is the script for those who want to create their own Nvidia xzm module from Nvidia driver setup. Warning : at the moment it works only for x64 systems. 1- First you should copy and paste the script below and save it as nvidia-driver.sh in any persistent folder. But make sure this path is NOT in...

Re: Pepper flash plugin 23.0.0.205

Do you use it instead of Adobe Flash player, or as additional one? Do you give it the same filename and path so that every Firefox finds it by default? It works only for Chrome-based browsers, like Chromium, Opera, Vivaldi, etc. For Firefox you should use the regular Flash player . Here's the Adobe...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

brokenman , I've seen something weird (again, hahaha) when testing Porteus on my girlfriend's laptop. During the boot (just after the splash menu asking for Always Fresh, Text Mode, etc) the character / is typed in a kind of endless loop until you press any key. What's even stranger is that if you ...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

Ed_P , OK, I've figured out: you should install 340.xx version. Here's a xzm for you to test (it's working on my girlfriend's Vaio laptop): http://www.mediafire.com/file/2rjy5pex5bob2e9/nvidia-340.98-porteus-v3.2-kernel-4.8.8-x86_64.xzm Sorry for this endless testing loop, but I think we're close t...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

Great news! I'm glad it worked But it worked when I didn't use your driver. Or any of these other mods. guest@porteus:~$ ls /mnt/sdb1/porteus3.2/Modules 07-printing.xzm* flashplayer-plugin-22.0.0.209-x86_64-1.xzm* firefox-48.0b6-x86_64-1.xzm* nvidia-367.57-porteus-v3.2-x86_64.xzm* guest@porteus:~$ ...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

Just put this xzm module inside porteus/modules/ then reboot and pray :D Now, serious: check if Nvidia Settings opens without any error and that you can run glxgears. http://www.mediafire.com/file/iigth9v5jv2pfdk/nvidia-367.57-porteus-v3.2-x86_64.xzm The good news, the HP now boots with your driver...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

That's good news. I had a feeling it would be the case. Regarding the nVidia links, here is what the nVidia site recommends: http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/256.35/README/installedcomponents.html If there are other libraries whose "soname" conflicts with that of the NVIDIA libraries...

Re: Porteus -v3.2 final

I've uploaded the 64bit kernel for you to check. kernel-4.8.8 It's in the x86_64/kernel folder. Please replace vmlinuz and 000-kernel.xzm in your current ISO. Cool! I'm using it right now, so the first good news is that it fixes the first problem with my Realtek ethernet wired, which was simply not...
