How to watch videos smoothly with no stutter and no tearing

This tutorial probably works only for Nvidia cards on XFCE, but you may try on a different setup and check if it works for you. I'm coming from Windows where I was using Media Player Classic + EVR render + Reclock, a combination that works flawlessly. I had to spend some time on Linux until I had ev...

Check if this works for you. You have to use all these 3 xzm files: http://www.mediafire.com/file/mel15h6aqic6dh0/nvidia-driver-367.57-x86_64-1_SBo.xzm http://www.mediafire.com/file/0vev7mr3xs8b3a4/nvidia-kernel-367.57_4.7.2_porteus-x86_64-1_SBo.xzm http://www.mediafire.com/file/ud1bj498pyybmd6/blac...

Re: NVIDIA 361 Driver

Sorry from bringing this back, but I read everything in order to compile a driver for my GeForce 650 Ti. I have just a couple of questions: 1- I built the driver flawlessly and executed 'save-changes nvidia-367-57.xzm' just after the Nvidia driver wizard exits. The package was created successfully. ...

Re: Qmmp can't open m4a - FFMpeg plugin problem

or compile the source in porteus by running the SlackBuild in the same directory as the source tarball to get a .txz i'm not familiar with cmake but i'm guessing that ffmpeg should be automaticly detected and the appropiate plugins built... That's a good idea. How can I do it? :) EDITED : I've got ...

Phylosophical questions about Linux

I know this is not specific related to Porteus, but given Porteus philosophy I think this is the right place to ask. :) 1- Is it possible to have portable apps on Linux? What I mean is that kind of app that comes inside a package with absolute all dependencies, then you can extract it to any folder ...

Re: Qmmp can't open m4a - FFMpeg plugin problem

Well I already have the ffmpeg plugin ('libffmpeg.so') inside the correct folder, but Qmmp can't load it anyway. I've just checked Qmmp for Windows and it turns out that the ffmpeg plugin ('ffmpeg.dll') also can't load without 3 more ffmpeg dlls (avformat, avcodec and avutil) located at the main fol...

[SOLVED] Qmmp can't open m4a - FFMpeg plugin problem

I'm trying to use Qmmp 0.10.3 with Porteus 3.2 rc5 x64 + XFCE, but it doesn't open m4a audio files. So I read that I need 'libffmpeg.so' plugin which I can't find through USM. So I tried the .deb from Ubuntu AMD64 ( http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/q/qmmp/qmmp_1.0.5-1_amd64.deb), extra...

Re: Pre Built Update-Scripts for 64bit

I can't open Opera 39. I tried with official Porteus 3.1 x64 + LXQt. I can see the icon, then I click and nothing happens, although I can see it running on Task Manager. BTW, is it too complicated to download latest official Opera and create the xzm package? I'm asking because I'm interested in tryi...
