Microsoft aquires GitHub?

Another product that M$ will probably mess. Let's celebrate the Big Data era, where just a few companies have enough information to predict our behavior.

Qt 5.9.5 for Porteus 4.0

@Ed_P, he was not referring to Qt, but Qt Lite.

To be honest, it wasn't clear to me that Qt Lite requires Qt Configuration Tool UI (which is indeed a commercial only tool). And one guy on the comments said that you can do the same using:

Code: Select all

configure --list-features

LXQt 0.12 is out

Current Porteus LXQt is basically the 0.13 version. It was built from Git in April 15th :good:

Years and years

Nice to hear that! It's funny because I experienced something very similar to you, Herumacil . I tried to keep Windows XP until 2012/2013 but Nvidia broke its drivers for XP and then I had to move to Seven -- which, although bloatware when compared to XP, was not that terrible. After some years, I r...

BTW, have you heard about this Qt Lite? It seems interesting, don't you think?

Porteus-v4.0 LXDE experience

@rych, if your AF mode experiment was conducted using the same USB stick/port as the ones where you get the issues, I wouldn't think that there's any problem with your hardware. The only difference between AF and Graphics Mode is that AF doesn't copy /porteus/rootcopy folder nor load the modules ins...

Porteus-v4.0 LXDE experience

@rych, it seems that you have some user file/package interfering, that's why I suggested the VBox. But since you don't know how to use it, you can try to put the login=root cheat code into the Always Fresh mode setting. To do that (if I remember well...), you need to edit /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg ...

Porteus-v4.0 bug reports

Confirmed. The virtualbox-guest module is not loaded during boot on the porteus guest. Loading it manually from /mnt/sr0/porteus/modules/ works fine and you can then go on as usual and create shared folders etc. Nothing in TTY1 to show failure to load. I tried it here and indeed it seems to have so...

@rych, can you reproduce this issue under a VBox machine? I tried here and I couldn't see any error using login=root cheat code.

Porteus-v4.0 LXDE experience

@rych, I can take a look at that later. You can try to boot in Always Fresh just to be sure that there's no module interfering. Also, as Ed_P suggested, you can also try without the cheat code. 1- The large size of the KDE module is not just related to Qt5, since LXQt module also has the main Qt5 li...
