thank you for your reply francois i'm sorry i am a complete newbie apparently f.lux comes as a tgz file https://justgetflux.com/linux.html xflux-pre.tgz - i downloaded it - i extracted it - and out came one executable file i am not sure what to do with this executable i don't want to do anything wro...
