Re: Nemesis update april-06-2017 discussion

new gui core module does break my nvidia driver version (constant... acpid client disconnected... @console messages). It works ok with nouveau though, it would probably work with a new nvidia driver of the 340.x branch (most likely with a new compile). For now I have successfully loaded and used the...

Re: Nemesis update april-06-2017 discussion

Ok, I had made a mistake, I had moved old core files to a folder inside base directory... sorry, so clean boot is ok now, I will test my system with savefile and modules also. So no problem with input, just a conflict. (moved old files dir to a path outside base). Sorry for the frustration.

Re: Nemesis update april-06-2017 discussion

Just one gpu here. Both nvidia drivers and nouveau tested respectively. Clean system boot also tested (no modules). Same result. So I guess ncmprhnsbl asks francois about libinput etc. Remember no keyb input for me, except if I will make a software virtual keyboard module with the old core. Please i...

Re: Nemesis update april-06-2017 discussion

hallo. I have tested this update (and the previous one) by just replacing the corresponding files. I have kept my modded initrd, kernel and nvidia drivers. There has to be some kind of X update problem because there is not any keyboard response. Previous nvidia driver seem to work ok though. tested ...

Re: PekWM?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PekWM

I can see it is a repository package, I think it is possible, but I cannot test it right now.
I guess it can be installed following the same tutorial:

viewtopic.php?f=138&t=5954

if you will try it, you can report your results

Re: Cinnamon and Porteus Nemesis

@blaze

Use all core modules
and then give a try on this
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=5954

i have never used cinnamon, but I do not see a reason why it should not work this way. Then see if you can find a way to isolate it.

Re: Pacman / Pamac update & keyring issues for nemesis 3.5

It seems you have destroyed or have not created correctly mirrors in your pacman configuration. Please follow my advice and if you make a step you cannot follow, use a backup until you have a working sysyem. I cannot follow every issue it will probably come out, so you have to go a bit deeper on you...

Re: manjaro or ubuntu

I have to say I really like the new 'discourse' forum that Manjaro is using. Seems like a more advanced and up to date kind of forum. It is indeed a step ahead. At the beginning it is a hate or love it situation, at the long term every one will probably like it. Many new exotic features for a forum...

Re: manjaro or ubuntu

I think that the most essential of Porteus is the small size. There could be versions stripped out to the bone. Even without x for the brave. This is not an issue with manjaro or any arch. But I do not suggest a basic release without x. A documented method to experiment with x versions, why not. it...

There has been an interesting discussion there. No need to say what I choose to use... enjoy.

Re: Dell Inspiron 1525 with Nemesis

Please read carefully the related arch wiki. Afaik There is no such command as "bluetooth". I m sure you have not found it anywere in arch. Follow documentation and try not to use commands specific to other distros. Spend some time studing the basics of arch and experiment with it. Then fix your blu...
