Going to the mirrors in a web browser showed the file as being the same size across all the sites so it didn't cross my mind to try Wget to mak...

Re: General discussion : Porteus alternative package manager

I could be wrong but i get the impression Neko is more interested in Arch than Slackware by the amount of work he does on it.

Re: General discussion : Porteus alternative package manager

Other projects have a full working set of Video drivers that are kept up to date so if portues can't even achieve that as a basic requirement then how is any of this in reality going to work? I've been on the internet long enough to know that if a project doesn't have any technically competent volun...

Re: Do you use LibreOffice?

WPS Office for Linux 2016 (Apparently) Released http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/06/wps-office-2016-for-linux-update It’s been a bumpy month for Kingsoft, the company which makes the software. Earlier this month it told its Twitter followers that future Linux updates were “on a halt”, and that it pla...

Re: General discussion : Porteus alternative package manager

On the other hand i can not readjust most of the issues. This isn't the first thing that works for you but not for others so there must be a difference between the 32bit and 64bit version of Porteus as you run 32bit from your avatar details? Bogomips>>> konsole doesn't work Donald>>> It works for m...

Re: Mission, goals and mean: working toward a better porteus

Couldn't it just be made easier in some way to use SlackBuilds as a single click without having to hunt down dependencies and fix symlinks?

Re: Mission, goals and mean: working toward a better porteus

BTW Nice to see you more active again brokenman. Thanks. I knew the first half of this year would be tough. The second half will also be tough, but I will try to be around a little more. It would be nice if you could put out a Monthly post like other projects that do a Blog or Roadmap. Even if it's...

Re: General discussion : Porteus alternative package manager

I can't remember his exact words but it was something along the lines of that he is not taking over threads and is pissed off? He was told after a couple of his posts to start a separate topic so maybe he had the impression that he was not welcome to have an opinion rather than taking it as people t...

No problem Neko , thank you for the reply and sorry to sidetrack the thread.

I wasn't sure if the idea of different base was just a passing thought or if you already had something of interest.

That was all :)
