Re: Mount .xzm Module with Write option

Thanks for the tutorial. When I have a spare minute I intend to go over it in detail. Terribly complicated on first sight, but IMHO worth a detailed perusal. 8)

Afterthought: just what the doctor ordered, for mr_hero to be sinking teeth into. ;)

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/home/guest# cp /usr/lib/firefox/browser/searchplugins/duckduckgo.xml p4/seamonkey/searchplugins
Hope this will be ok now. Any way of verifying it's working?

SeaMonkey and DuckDucckGo

Using SeaMonkey to conduct search on ddg. Does ddg then know I'm using Porteus? If so, how?

Re: Mount .xzm Module with Write option

Suppose, copy it all somewhere, add files and then make new core.xzm. That's first thing that springs to mind.

Re: USM bug reports

2) Yes this is an anomaly. I created a process to accommodate these. You will probably find that the library in question is a symlink and doesn't appear in the /var/log/packages file. Please open /etc/usm/suppliment-optifest.txt and add the lines: openjre-7u51_b31-i486-2gv.txz libmawt.so ENDOF Test...

Re: Farming Out Porteus Work

I'd like to know whether one can post on other Linux and Mac sites "Porteus Help Wanted" requests to farm out much of the over-work you all do to programmers and techies out there Rather than on other sites, announce here and prioritise the requirements. Then one needs someone to fulfill the role o...

Re: Icons of confusion

Also had difficulty with the icons, but that was because of blanking out scripts carte blanche. Had to use other browser profile where block-out was not so drastic.

Re: slackyd: a simple but efficient package manager

Question for Slackyd afficionados. USM made subdirectory for VLC and packages it depends upon: guest@porteus:~$ ls -1 vlc-2.1.4 guile-2.0.9-i486-1.txz libtasn1-3.6-i486-1_slack14.1.txz libunistring-0.9.3-i486-1.txz python-2.7.5-i486-1.txz tcl-8.6.1-i486-1.txz tk-8.6.1-i486-1.txz vlc-2.1.4-i486-1alie...

[Resolved] Rootcopy Kicker Favorites

Simple question. One of apps requires kdeliibs. Installing kdeliibs, I believe, clobbers Kicker's Applications menu. So before installing, required apps have to be saved in Favorites , which seem to remain untouched. Temporising by saving Favorites file in Rootcopy would be one less complication. Wo...
