Re: reinstalling windows 7 on a multiple boot linux box

If you have a partition (ca.13GB) labelled HDDRECOVERY on Z930's HDD, you can do factory reset by holding "0" and power on as brokenman mentioned. When you bought your Toshiba Z930, have you created USB Recovery Flash Drive or DVD Recovery Disk using the Recovery Media Creator utility? Porteus has P...

Re: Wireless

You can check by running the script: /opt/porteus-scripts/xpns-tool @brokenman My Wi-Fi connection used to be fine out of the box on xfce i.e. automatically connected once I put my password, but I wanted to try the script you mentioned in order to learn what is going on the terminal base. Then I go...

Three cheers for Portues!

Dear Sirs: This is to thank all of you who have supported me again for taking to the time to solve my problems. I am quite new to Linux and have been using Porteus for just two months. I take great pleasure in using Porteus which is ideal for my computer life. Quite frankly, I know I could not have ...

Thank you for using Japanese personal computer, Toshiba. :Yahoo!: I always recommend Toshiba to my friends, my aunt and my clients when they need new one. @Jack They say Toshiba support is good not only by phone but also by on-line remote assistance. If you use the computer with Win/Porteus dual boo...

Re: freestylers slackware repository

@freestyler! Thanks for your great contribution. Regarding freemind-1.0.0-noarch-1_fs.tgz, why don't you update it to 1.0.1? I hope the updated one will be also in 32 bit (i486) packages because you made it for me. :Rose: Respecting Joint Support Force. I want to call it Porteus "Operation Tomodach...

Re: Porteus 3.0 final feedback

X -configure - fatal server error and another which I can not remember. Try to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf. At Section "Device", change the driver to vesa by having Driver "vesa" in your file. I just googled ["fatal server error" solved] to get this info. Update I was on the way to make Porteus KDE USB...

@worktowork
write server active and error I can`t copy all information from screen.
I'm sorry but I don't understand this. In my case, as I sent the command "X -configure",
"root@porteus" reappeared. Then I typed "ls" to see the list of files in order to confirm
new xorg.conf name.
