Re: VMware player installation failed on proteus kiosk 3.0

I just read your first post again and since you are using VMware-Player-6.0.2-1744117.x86_64.bundle I take it you have 64 bit.
What errors are you getting when you install it?
I think you might need the devel.xzm module.
It is available at http://ponce.cc/porteus

Re: VMware player installation failed on proteus kiosk 3.0

The desktop edition is a light weight live system made for running of usb and cd. I recommend building an iso from http://build.porteus.org/ with limited options, choose a lightweight desktop environment like lxde. It will make things easier if your USB or the partition it is installed on is formatt...

Re: Help needed with a custom build

Just follow the prompts at http://build.porteus.org/ under advanced options are choices for auto login Using desktop edition you wont need to repack the iso, just make modules for your settings and software you want. If you don't wish to save changes then remove the "changes=/porteus" cheat code fro...

Porteus kiosk edition is not designed to run virtualbox.
If you would like to install virtualbox on Porteus, please use desktop edition

Re: whether there is a local version of the constructor kios

Hi, Welcome to Porteus.
What do you mean by constructor kiosk?
If you mean the site to download kiosk, it is here http://build.porteus.org/kiosk/

Re: USM Unified Slackware Package Manager

Good idea. I think it should be set to update by default.
Ive noticed that when it does update, USM need to be restarted or it wont search packages. That may be the cause of some peoples problems.

Isn't that different? I think Porteus is very unique, I haven't seen anything like it and am yet to see a distro as flexible.
