I'm doing strange experiments combining elements from Porteus (the kernel, the initrd, and the kernel module) with a Debian Wheezy core module. If I use these elements from the Porteus 3.1 version, networks does not wor...

Re: Improve Porteus security

I've tested the login cheat and oddly it does not work... it's better to edit the /etc/slim.conf file and disable autologin from there (does porteus use slim on any DE?)

Improve Porteus security

Is there any way to improve porteus security? Eg. Disabling autologin cheatcode, changing default root and guest password (how does porteus wizard achieve that?) In this Post Brokenman mentions his tutorial, where can I find it? http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=113&t=2358&p=25650&hilit=tutor...

However porteus can recognise Internet Keys out of the box. I would be interested too on how...

why does my time always sets one hour before the real time?

Hi, in slackware (and Porteus too) I Noticed that my clock after a certain period of timesets one hour before the real time. Now it's 3:00AM but it was set on 2:00AM. I belive that a fix would be to disable ntp service, set the time correctly and then syncing system time to Hardware Clock. Am I wron...
