Porteus-v5.0rc3 x86_64 bug reports
Hello, I have an HP 240 G8 (ProdID: 203b6ea#abz) and my touchpad does not work, Windows 10 recognises it as ELAN INPUT DEVICE. Fortunately It detects my Wifi Card, I could not find a lot of distros that do. How can I help you to identify my touchpad? thanks

Re: Porteus v3.2rc2 FAQ and wishlist
Finally someone included a script to update our favorite browsers! It sucks to browse the web with firefox 31 when we are at 49. The browser version that we use in Porteus 3.1 is one year old (I'm talking about firefox). How about including chromium in the 32 bit release of Porteus to fill the gap o...

Re: The future of Porteus
Good to hear we stay with Slackware for a while, while I downloaded Nemesis more than once, I was not able to try it due to having lost a monitor and not replaced it, meaning I am a PC short of playing around with and I prefer of having at least one running stable system. Well, stable with the down...

I've downloaded the ISO that brokenman built before christmas. if I give the command get-devel as root it tries to download the module from this website http://brokenman.porteus.org/porteus//modules/05-devel.xzm the url misses the i686 wich should be provided by the...

Re: The future of Porteus
I guess that BSD is a LOT different then a Linux system...It's better to stick with Linux for convenience and because it's what we have used during all this time...

Re: The future of Porteus
@ Michele13 Thank you. Your work is beautiful proof that for any basis we can make a modular distribution. Can you somehow help experience PureOs (Debian-based), the project is closed, but it can still be downloaded here: http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/P...

Re: The future of Porteus
Good job on your debian livecd! I would love to try to create a debian based distro but I have no experience with deb. I wonder what the reaction would have been had I announced a base change to debian. What (in your opinion) are advantages of debian over arch? - Debian is a solid rock as Slackware...

Re: The future of Porteus
The pros of using Porteus are imho: 1) It's small . Why do I have to download almost a gigabyte of data to have a basic system working? I like minimalism 2) It's stable and secure . The package version do not change very often. 3) It's geek-friendly . We can play around with it as we please. 4) Home...

Here What do they think about Porteus on other websites? post other citations about Porteus if you wish. I'll always use porteus, don't worry..it's unbeatable on it's job. I hope that the next ...
