True, but most users don't know how to do this either. post these bugs (and how exactly we can reproduce them) :D Having a single topic with multiple unrelated problems makes it hard to ...

USM in both 32 and 64 bit v4.0, ends up showing LIBS.txt error, visit me after 6 hours. Enough has been talked about this error and repeats in the new version.
And the solution is the same one used to fix it in 3.2.2: Firefox Quantum (Post by Ed_P #62912)

Or a separate topic for each 4.0 DE needing tweaking.

Uefi and porteus 3.0

Well, the small EFI partition has to be FAT32 ttbomk but not the other partitions where the OSs are installed.

On my Dell I have 8 partitions, the 1 EFI partition and 7 NTFS partitions. The partition table is GPT according to GParted.

@Ed_P, the one million question is: what 3.2.2 does that 4.0 doesn't (except for having decent icons when increasing taskbar size)? :)
You have to ask this guy. ;)

I could easily list two or three things that do work in the older version,
but not in the new one.

Mission, goals and mean: working toward a better porteus

Guys,I really appreciate your work on and for Porteus. Me too. And I wish I knew Linux better so I could help more. Maybe for XFCE there could be a Lite version and a Plus version. Whether that would be 2 003-XFCE modules or just the one 003-XFCE module with a supporting xzm module with all the fun...

 Sorry. But glad you figured it out. :)

Normally the line:

Code: Select all

mkdir -p /tmp/mod
is after my code to delete an old one. In my cutting and pasteing I missed it. :sorry:

What is your porteus.cfg default?

How does your /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg file compare with the /porteus/porteus-v4.0-x86_64.cfg file? Do you put any cheatcodes in there too?

you can create a module with the files in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections
I do something similar to do this but I include files in /var/run/NetworkManager, /var/lib/dhcpcd and /etc/hosts.
