Re: access a SAMBA network folder

@amplatfus If your router has a samba server installed, then it -the samba server- is supposed to serve as interface to windows machines. If you are using a Porteus machine to connect to your server, i don't see what is the samba server for. Maybe you have a windows server and you have samba instal...

The reason of your error in the log come from here. The system is trying to access this file but it's not present or not available which result into an error in log. This shouldn't the root cause of your 'router' problem. What's the current version of samba server running on your router? I must cla...

Re: access a SAMBA network folder

A quick test showed me that this still works in standard porteus v2.1 without samba installed. Wread's solution above is certainly much more elegant and i would advise using his method if you want to interact and edit files. If you just want access to copy files to and from the machine then cifs is...

All the best to Porteus team,

[SOLVED] Re: access a SAMBA network folder

Dear brokenman, I cannot believe it :) I did it using a executable file in /root/.trinity/Autostart/ with mkdir /mnt/pc mount.cifs //172.16.0.1/mnt /mnt/pc user=yourusername, password=yourpassword What is strange, before that I have tried to mount samba folder using wrong password. Guess what: is wo...
