Re: Missing Operating System

Older bioses don't boot grub from some usb, you can use lilo and start grublegacy from lilo with this lilo.conf: image=DO_NOT_CHANGE/grub.exe or with similar path. My USB device (B) is old but worked to boot when was formated as FAT. Now have tried with EXT3. The partition is active and no errors i...

I use until now the " security = share " but I saw in samba log file that "this is deprecated" so I changed to " security = user "in smb.conf in router. I have defined jffs user with given ri...

Re: access a SAMBA network folder

Great! Mate shows the shares so i think you have some thing wrong with your install. Are you absolutely sure you have no saved changes, nothing in rootcopy and a completely fresh install of the latest Porteus? It seems there may be some other module or changes overwriting a file/directory and stopp...

Re: access a SAMBA network folder

cifs-utils were recompiled under rc1 to get rid of additional deps. please install this package from standard slackware-14.0 and let us know if that helped. Thank you. I have installed cifs-utils-5.5-x86_64-2.txz and now trying to configure, because: bash: /sbin/mount.cifs: cannot execute binary fi...
