Error: illegal ISO file

I re-did the procedure and now have a functioning Porteus on a ext4 filesystem. I just need to make all changes persistent now. It would also be nice to skip the menu at boot. Are these two functions something you can guide me through? with ext4, persistence should already be working, i believe.. ....

Error: illegal ISO file

yeah, we might need some clarification here.. as Ed asked: how did you create the usb stick that works? and "the install utility" ? would that be (one of ) the gui utility in the menu? there is 'Porteus Installer'(which can also be accessed from Porteus Settings Centre) and 'create live USB' and " l...

Porteus Kernel Builder

i think maybe: CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS=y some possible relevant discussion here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/434410 something to do with whether hw clock(cmos) is set to utc or local? don't know if setting: CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS=n would cause some problem if hwclock is set to local.. should be noted, that apart...

Porteus 5 + Virtualbox - after some time running it stops for unknown reason, any ideas?

can I copy-paste all .xzm files from the old Porteus release from the modules folder to the modules folder of the new Porteus installation, and do nothing else besides the new installation to have all my old applications running fine in the new Porteus? if by "modules folder" you mean <virtual HD>/...

[HOWTO] figure out if you have a pure x86_64 system

Interesting. Somewhat scary even. I assumed a module is a module and copied the flashplayer module from my 4.0 system to my 5.0 system. You're saying I need to have your browser script build the flashplayer on the 5.0 system. it's just a change that occured in the slackware package tools between 4....

So, when the path got got overwritten by a symlink… what happens to the files in path? Are they gone/invisible for the system for the time being?
the work around would be to look directly at each module in /mnt/live/memory/images/

[HOWTO] figure out if you have a pure x86_64 system

Not sure where/how I would look for something in that xzm module that would change a symlink. any module made with porteus-4.0 (that is packaged in slackware format) will have it's package info in /var/log/packages(a dir) if used in 5.0* , (in which /var/log/packages is symlinked to /var/lib/pkgtoo...

Porteus with zstd compression

So, one might say it would be an advantage for users who have way older hardware and who want to get the most performance out of such machine. these posts: Porteus with zstd compression (Post by fanthom #72778) .. Do I get that right, is vivaldi usually a way larger module than the newest Palemoon browser?
it uses the same webengine/ui as chrome, chromium, opera ..etc ..so is as chunky..
