[Solved] v1.2 LXDE doesn't remember Volume Settings

Hi, I have observed that the v1.2 LXDE version sound mixer (alsamixer) doesn't restore my last set volume levels across reboots. I am already using save.dat for saving changes. The KDE version (kmixer) properly saves the volume settings every time. Not really sure if this is a bug or am I missing so...

Re: 32bit official repo bug reports

In v1.2 Final the following packages were removed:- python-2.6.6-i486-1 pygtk-2.22.0-i486-1 pygobject-2.26.0-i486-1 pycairo-1.8.10-i486-1 These packages are essential for installation of Crossover - a popular Windows emulator based on Wine. I had to download these modules from the Porteus website to...

Re: Porteus 1.1 save.dat write error

The save.dat creation error messages don't get displayed in v1.2 Final. Also I suspect that the unexpected system crashes was due to an unstable KDE and not due to corruption of save.dat file. v1.2 LXDE works better without any problem anytime.

[Solved]Porteus 1.2-RC1 does not support gzip compressed XZM

Hi Everyone, I have recently tested Porteus 1.2 RC1 version and found out that it is no more able to read xzm modules that was re-compressed with gzip compression. It shows a message that the module is corrupted. What I did was first extract the xz compressed module into a folder and then create a m...

Re: Porteus 1.1 save.dat write error

@Ahau: I have also tested with 256 MB save.dat file but it generated the same errors in that too.
As soon as it gets filled with about 20 MB of data, the system hangs up and after reboot I am not able to login using that save file.

Re: Porteus 1.1 save.dat write error

I use a rather old Pentium III PC. Other hardware details can be found in my system info link provided in this post. But as it seems that not many users experienced this problem, this issue might be related to hardware & kernel version compatibility as said by Hamza . Till now I couldn't get any sol...

Re: Porteus 1.1 save.dat write error

If the problem is with the linux kernel, pls. suggest where should I report this bug so that I can get a fix for it ?
Or is it that higher versions of Linux kernel does not support older PCs ?

[Solved] Porteus 1.1 save.dat write error

Hi Everyone, I have started encountering this serious issue while using Porteus v1.1 Latest 32-bit release which reproduced every time I tried. Although, porteus works perfectly fine in 'Always fresh' mode but the issue arises when i create a save.dat container in that mode. I created a save.dat fil...
