Porteus 1.1 64bit: A mistake in linuxrc??

What I think the problem is: In linuxrc, line 132: udhcpc; mkdir -p /mnt/httpfs/porteus/base; httpfs http://$IP /mnt/httpfs/porteus/base Should be: udhcpc; mkdir -p /mnt/httpfs; httpfs http://$IP /mnt/httpfs Why do I think so? 1. The 32bit version is like this. 2. PXE boot doesn't work unless you ch...

Re: GlxGears is corrupt output (affecting other applications

atiHD5730 on notebook and 5770 on desktop. they use the default radeon driver but i'm also 99.9% sure i've tried the fglrx driver although i hate it because it's always horribly misconfigured (like tty switching and resolution and such). This happens in all opengl applications (glxgears, google-eart...

Re: [HOWTO] Installing Packages Using pkgs.org (manual insta

O wow thanks, I wasn't aware of slackyd command. I will add it straight away, and maybe try to fix it up a little as I was in a bit of a hurry when I wrote it.

[HOWTO] Installing Packages Using pkgs.org (manual install)

If you want to install a program, chances are that it is already in one of the slackware repositories such as slackware or slacky. pkgs.org is an excellent tool for searching these repositories for packages by name or contents. This guide shows how to manually select and install packages in porteus....

GlxGears is corrupt output (affecting other applications)

When i run glxgears in porteus 1.1 32bit, the output runs smoothly other than it is extreamly hard to see. As if it had some kind of affect. It looks a bit pixelated like some square glass mosaic type of affect. I realized this after i tried running google earth and the earth screen (the part with s...

Re: LibreOffice 3.4.4 on Porteus?

Alien builds some not in slackware repository software for slackware. LibreOffice 3.4.4: http://alien.slackbook.org/blog/libreoffice-3-4-4/ Basically you need 2 things; libreoffice and java runtime environment(jre) jre is in the official slackware repository: http://slackware.cs.utah.edu/pub/slackwa...

Re: Alternate input methods

Can I get this working by changing /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-keyboard-layout.conf from /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-keyboard-layout.conf ?

I just found this but i'm not sure it has to do with the problem or exactly what to change

any ideas?

I'm sorry i'm not sure where to put this and also have looked everywhere and can only find on old guide that 1.1 was originaly set to be released on 6 December. That was 11 days ago.

Any idea for a more relevant release date?

Re: Alternate input methods

Yes, scim tables is an engine which allows for allot of input methods, but this isn't the issue.
The issue is that i can't get it set as the input method for the system, either a configuration issue or a dependency missing.
