just FYI, from 5.0rc2 onwards the sudo password has been configured to ask for the target users password. ie the root password for root.. in any case, as beny says, su works just as well in a script: su -c <command> and it's best to change the root password to something more secure ;) In the future...

Actually,

xrandr --output <screen-name> --brightness 0.5
will do the same job. (0.5 at the reduces backlight to 50 percent and you can find your screen-name by typing xrandr. Just before command itself, there are the name of the connectors which are your sceen-names, select the connected ones).

Hi, I am using the latest porteus 5.1.5 version. I used cheatcode to make my keyboard layout to Turkish layout. I can use Turkish keys except special signs such as @,#$... since I can print them only by pressing Alt+Shift+X (x=2 for @ sign , 3 for # and 4 for $ sing etc. ). I am using openbox theme....
