Firefox 7.0.1 (i686) w/ Flashplugin

Hello. This was my attempt to create a Firefox 7 module, with the flashplugin included. I just straight up used the default (i686) download from the official Firefox download page HERE , and used the latest stable version (10.3 r183) of the flashplugin from the FIDOSlax repo. I tried, with the excep...

Re: Google Chrome 12 (x86)

Well... this time the script created a module that is usable with some post-install modifications. I'd say that all problems relate to path, or permissions. Here's the rundown in the order they need to be overcome. Problem #1; /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome: error while loading shared libraries: l...

Re: Google Chrome 12 (x86)

It's a no-go, but I suppose I could try chromium if it's dependencies aren't humongous.

Re: Firefox (x86)

The Firefox module builds, but when I type 'firefox', or 'firefox-bin' nothing is found. If I hadn't already deleted it, I suppose I could have extracted the contents to the hard-drive, but it's really doesn't matter. The default, although older, firefox + flashplayer + flashgot plugin works just fi...

Re: LXDE: No poweroff/reboot options after KDE deletion

If you mean the 'always fresh' cheatcode then yes, I always do anymore. Just to make sure, I deleted the '/porteus/changes' directory, and emptied the '/porteus/images' one. Well... I went and removed half of my user added modules at a time, and rebooted. Finally, I narrowed it down to the last two ...

DE independent packages?

Hello. Would it be possible to have several basic packages installed that were independent of the DE? This way if one decides to remove KDE, or LXDE, they would still have some basic functionality. Some ideas being... - epdfview - feh - gftp - isomaster - simpleburn - usb-modeswitch (for 3G/4G modem...

Re: LXDE: No poweroff/reboot options after KDE deletion

Can anyone confirm that this happens to them as well when they delete the KDE components. I guess I really have to verify that I didn't change something else... Maybe it's one of the other modules I've loaded? I noticed before getting rid of it, that KDE refused to load when the Nvidia driver...

Re: Firefox (x86)

Unfortunately, this script doesn't work for me either. It fails, and then leaves me back at the prompt.

[Solved] LXDE: No poweroff/reboot options

Hi. This is concerning the standard 32 bit Porteus v1.0. This is not so much a question as hopefully an useful pointer for somebody. I use Porteus from a 1 GB flash drive, which as everyone knows is very small on the space department. While the module interface for installing uninstalling programs i...

Re: FIDOSlax tools - easy way of creation your own modules

I tried the fmodapi, and then the fmodex packages, with zdoom. It still crashes upon trying to start any levels. Strangely enough, the sound wasn't working in the menus either. Here's the paste. http://pastebin.com/Yv6vXEdX I had to use wget to download the timidity package manually, but it seems to...

Re: FIDOSlax tools - easy way of creation your own modules

If I was supposed to start a new help thread, please split this post. After updating to the latest xzm util, I ran this command. xzm_add timidity The problem is that some type of error occurs, and the download is never completed. Here's the last few lines from the terminal. Activate a module on the ...

Very nice. Thanks for this. :good:

I like this much more than Kde, and unlike Lxde, it's completely standalone. Please keep up the good work.

Re: FIDOSlax tools - easy way of creation your own modules

Thank you for all the conversions!

Could I ask a favor? Under the games category you linked to, there's a source port called "zdoom". As the "xzm_search" didn't find it, could you do that one as well?

Re: "Must have apps" - 64bit official repo requests

Is there a Subversion x86_64 version hosted anywhere? That'd be great. I also have a question about the Devel.xzm package. Does it partly depend on KDE, because when I removed KDE from the boot process, cmake gave dependency errors. Would it be possible to have those dependencies contained in the De...
