nVidia 367.27 x86_64 nonglvnd driver for RC4
Hi all! Not sure where to post it, so feel free to move it or whatelse. Here it is . Should work out of the box, but for some reason I had to link "/usr/lib64/libGL.so.1" to "/usr/lib64/libGL.so.1.2.0", otherwise in FVWM windows lose 1px decoration on the borders. It's a local problem most likely. =...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports
About mc and opening iso files:
Activating cdrtools 3.01a17 from Slackware 14.1 did the trick for "Frankenstein", will try Porteus 3.2 at the morning.
Activating cdrtools 3.01 from slackware-current broke the thing again...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports
The strange part is that nothing was removed in the kernel from 4.5.3 to the current used kernel. Can you tell me which kernel module the phone uses? It's not the kernel, I tested it with 4.5.3 kernel in my quoted message (It's a kernel from Porteus 3.2 rc2). In both cases I had these 2 problems (t...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports
Sent you a PM EDIT: It seems an iso created with genisoimage can be opened in MC. One created with mkisofs can not. There is another issue on the forum related to this so I will try to get to the bottom of it. Thanks for testing. I have 3 testing setups: Porteus 3.1, Porteus 3.2rc3 and my "Frankens...

Re: Porteus-v3.2rc3 Bug Reports
Hi all! Tried Porteus 3.2 rc3 (cinnamon) and the problem still exist Hi all! I tried porteus 3.2rc2 x86_64 xfce as a "clean" xfce variant and as a part of custom monstrocity. In both cases I had these 2 problems (they're not kernel's fault as kernel 4.5.3-porteus works fine with other modules and po...

Re: NVIDIA driver Setup
For expert options there's "-E" if I remember correctly.
It asks you if you want to check for presence of alternative drivers.

In both cases I had these 2 problems (they're not kernel's fault as kernel 4.5.3-porteus works fine with other modules and porteus 3.1 among them): 1)At work (gigabyte mb), phone connected to us...

Re: Update the kernel of Porteus v3.1
Your upkernel 4.4.1 contains /lib/modules/4.4.0-porteus Is that normal? I wasn't able to launch DE and on all attempts to "modprobe" got "EXEC format error" None of the drivers worked... P.S. Does your kernels have nouveau? I'm just curious. P.P.S. Can your kernels be used with initrd.xz from porteu...

Re: Building Blocks
So I take it you're just trying things out? But what do you want to change? I can't say for everyone, but for me Slackware's live script is lacking many critical things: no copy2ram (and AlienBob stated that he's not interested in this feature) modules from subdirectories aren't loaded and probably ...

Re: Building Blocks
Tweaked Slackware-live init to include "toram" option. At least it should work that way... Also, subdirectories in "system" and "addons" are checked for modules. https://cbkoin.ru:450/uploads/Files/init.before https://cbkoin.ru:450/uploads/Files/init.after https://cbkoin.ru:450/uploads/Files/init.di...

... Wishing to be titch more amitious than 3.1, and proceed from AB's live cd as already proposed first step. ... Yes, it's good to know that there's slackware-live, but it's in beta stage and as I understand (I didn't have much time to study it yet), it works directly from usb flash without using ...

Re: Building Blocks
May I ask the purpose of these actions? As usual, I'm not sure I understand it completely... Why someone want to create Porteus from scratch? Something was changed since Porteus 3.1? I mean it's slackware 14.1, only "current" is newer than that... In this case it's easier to just repack correspondin...

Re: Update the kernel of Porteus v3.1
@Bogomips [3.18.20] (2) from Kriss "certain fonts become smaller on 27" screen" http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=4788&start=30#p35922 I recently checked it. It's not because of your config, it's the same for all new kernels. Sorry for misinformation. I compiled default 4.2.x kernel wit...

Re: Alien Bob slackware minimalist live version
Nice! I'll definitely try it. Also, it should be easy to update Porteus using Slackware-live as a base. =) This will result in the escape route to the anti-systemd Porteuser (including me!) Afraid not. It is certainly not anything like Porteus. He made that pretty clear in the article. But it should...

Re: Video driver load order and selection
Ok, I fixed this by editing linuxrc like this. (moved vga_detect below EXTRAMOD and added -name "*.xzm")
Here are resulting initrd.xz and initrd64.xz for those who interested.
