was there ever a resolution to this, i'm am getting similiar issue.
CAN login via vnc, but permission error using ssh. have checked password.

Easiest way to make video avail to play in kiosk
Have created kiosk, hoping to put video file somewhere avail where users can play.
Hoping don't have to load a machine with linux and unpack/manipulate the iso.
