@beny:
Thanks for the follow-up. I am attracted to Aporteus. Will surely do at some point. Porteus 4.2 is quite stable for my use. And I might try nemesis too. I like the speed of nemesis.
@Ed:
Donald's trick is the solution for me.
Thanks.

Donald you save my life! What is your address? I will send you some goodies from the Québec industrial complex.
And naturally it works.

copy2ram: is it for every distribution or livecd
Hello raja, I have followed the development of debiandog. You seem to have done it too. You see a lot more possibilities than I do. Thanks for the tip. Have you seen tome's ubuntu version of porteus? Quick Ubuntu based Porteus (x64) - UPortabilizer ;) According to tome and to brokenman, it would be...

copy2ram: is it for every distribution or livecd
I understand that copy2ram will boost a system speed, the main disadvantage being the llonger time needed to boot into RAM. Some distributions like debian do not have a copy2ram option. Is there a turnaround. For example, while I would be happy to provide an openplotter porteus adaptation of this ma...

slpkg : package builder (manager) linux
Anyone has some bundles for slpkg for porteus version 4.0 and 5.0? It would be real handy. It seems that I have it all wrong. root@porteus:~# slpkg update Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/slpkg", line 35, in <module> from slpkg.main import main ModuleNotFoundError: No module named '...

@beny: There must be a way to remove slacky from the code. Isn´t it? I have looked the error messages and they are not present in the /usr/bin/usm script file. It must call some other scripts. root@porteus:~# usm -u slackonly grep: /etc/usm/mirrors-slacky.txt: No such file or directory Starting slac...

Hello raja. I did it this way because the http://slackware.org.uk/slacky would not work. It would freeze. root@porteus:~# usm -u all slackware was updated 83 seconds ago. @nanzor:
Very nice to acknowledge that we have a pi connaisseur. This could be quite useful.

I am not surprised at all. Great catch!
Maybe experienced user could go and comment the last review that was posted on distrowatch:

@minions: Maybe you could have a look at a porteus lover thread: Donated after day two of honeymoon Porteus might simply be not for you. Though I am usually very nice with newcomers on this forum, I really don't feel like it when I read your comments. Read the reviews on distrowatch, you might recon...

You should introduce your installation on kodi forums. I am sure this would be a hit. The speed of nemesis makes it a great contender to host kodi. Don't you think? :) I would be frankly very happy that nemesis could clone into all sorts of flavor. This basic artic-archlinux distribution is very fas...

Live-System invitation from AntiX
Ahhhh! Right! I read so fast. This is diagonal reading on only five lines. Or maybe, I am due for the optometrist. Before coming to slax, I was a mepis follower, antix being a light version of mepis or its descendant, isn't? Nonetheles, my idea is not so bad about nemesis being brought up to a live ...
